Overview

This workshop gives learners the basic test habits that prevent damaged boards and confusing debugging sessions. They practice checking circuits before applying power and learn what a multimeter can confirm quickly.

The emphasis is on low-voltage classroom circuits. Learners check continuity, voltage, resistor values, and LED polarity, then document the fault found and the correction made.

Learning Outcomes

  • Use a multimeter for continuity, voltage, and resistance checks
  • Identify reversed polarity and missing ground connections
  • Find accidental shorts on a breadboard
  • Document a wiring fault and its correction

What You Build

A fault-finding station where students diagnose and repair staged low-voltage wiring mistakes.

Materials Provided

Multimeters, Arduino-compatible boards, breadboards, jumper wires, LEDs, resistors, staged fault cards, safety worksheet.

How Schools Can Integrate It

Use this as a practical safety checkpoint before independent build work. It also makes an excellent teacher-led diagnostic station during STEM days.
